First, the magical world is consistent throughout the book. Beauty’s presence seemed to cause things to happen, like doors opening, candles lighting, and rooms appearing. Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White is a children’s modern fantasy book. I believe this book met the criteria for the genre very well. First, the magical world is consistent throughout the book. Animals can talk to each other and understand each other, but people do not understand them. Fern is the exception, she can hear and understand when the animals talk. Defending Redwall

Redwall by Brian Jacques is a children’s Modern Fantasy book. I believe this book met the criteria for the genre very well. First, the animal world is consistent throughout the book. The animals talk and wear clothes. The time period is the olden days, like the middle ages or the Shakespearean period. The good guys, like Mathias, always tried to do good things like Martin the Warrior, who he idolized. The bad guys, like Cluney the Scourge, uses whatever means necessary to get what he wants. Where the Red Fern Grows

The best book I read this semester was Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. The Genre of this book is Contemporary Realistic Fiction. It is fiction because the story is not about a real person, but it could have been. It takes place in the past. It is about the love of a boy, Billy, and his two dogs, Dan and Ann.
